About Us


THE PATALEBAN VINEYARD
The Pataleban Vineyard was developed on the premises of Pataleban Resort in 2007. The site lies 16 km. west of Kathmandu city and is at an altitude of 1600m. above sea level. It covers an area of 2.4 acres of land facing south and west at ChisapaniVilage, Baadbhanjyang VDC. 5, Kathmandu, Nepal. We are growing Japanese and American table grapes along with some European wine grapes. The root stocks were imported from Japan. We also applied the training system as well as the Japanese and European systems. We used to sell table grapes at the resort, organizing events for grape picking in the harvesting season July/August.
THE KAULE VINEYARD
The Kaule Vineyard is our second project for Pataleban Vineyard Winery, established in 2011. The site is on top of a hill, and lies 35 km. west of Kathmandu city at an altitude of 1400m. above sea level. The area is 5 acres north-east, south and south-west facing lands at Thakre Village, Kaule 8, Dhading, Nepal. There we are growing Japanese and European wine grapes. The root stock was imported from Japan and Switzerland. We also applied the training system as well as the European System.


THE KEWALPUR VINEYARD
The Kewalpur Vineyard is the 3rd project for Pataleban Vineyard Winery, established in 2016. The site lies 35 km. west of Kathmandu city at an altitude of 750-1000m. above sea level.The area is 12.5 acres and has a south facing slope of hill at Kewalpur, Thakre Village, Dhading, Nepal. There we are growing mostly an international variety of wine grapes and some Japanese wine grapes. The root stock was imported from Japan and Switzerland. We also applied the training system as well as the European system.

Red Kaule
Red Kaule is our pristine Red Wine offering. It is a blend of European and Japanese Hybrid grapes, homegrown at our Kaule Vineyard.

White Ashish is a crisp and clear White Wine from PVW, prepared from grapes grown locally at our various vineyards located amid the hills west of Kathmandu.

Mr. Kumar Karki
Chairman
A wine enthusiast and connoisseur with years of experience in hospitality and tourism industry. His years of work and specialized training in the Vineyard Management from Japan as well as wine making formula received in Switzerland gave birth to Pataleban Vineyard Winery, Nepal’s first homegrown winery.

Mr. Janpal Thapa
Director
Hospitality professional with over 25 years of experience in the field. He specialized training in Sustainable Tourism and niche product development as agraduate from Tribhuvan University. He has remained an active member of different social and professional organizations.

Mr. Dhruba Kumar Khatri
Director
A passionate wine lover and industrialist, who hastraveled extensively inside the country as well as abroad to the European and Asian countries for social work purposes. Studied and worked in London, UK for almost a decade in the field of hospitality before returning to Nepal to promote local production and economy. He is life member of Nepal Human Right Council.
